Crypto Leaders to Meet with Harris Campaign Officials in Key Roundtable Discussion

Crypto executives are set to participate in a roundtable discussion next week with White House aides and Representative Ro Khanna, aiming to influence the policy direction of Vice President Kamala Harris's election campaign. This meeting will include key figures from Harris's campaign and the Biden administration, such as outgoing senior adviser Anita Dunn, National Economic Adviser Lael Brainard, and Deputy Chief of Staff Bruce Reed.

The roundtable signifies the administration's intent to engage with the cryptocurrency sector, addressing its regulatory concerns and reflecting the increasing importance of digital assets in U.S. politics. Approximately 50 million Americans have invested in cryptocurrencies, prompting candidates from both major parties to seek support from this voter base. Former President Donald Trump has actively courted the crypto community, criticizing the Biden administration's regulatory stance and pledging to make the U.S. a global hub for cryptocurrency if reelected.

In a recent effort to repair relationships with the crypto industry, Harris's campaign has reached out to leading firms and appointed David Plouffe, a strategist with prior experience in the sector, as a senior adviser. This outreach follows a letter from Democratic representatives urging the party to adopt a more supportive approach towards digital assets.
